Yala National Park (Ruhuna National Park) is the most visited and second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. Located in the southeast of the island, covering 979 sq. km, Yala spans across the Southern and Uva Provinces and lies just 24 km from Tissamaharama.
The park is world-famous for its incredible wildlife, including leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 200 species of birds. Visitors are allowed to explore Block I and II, which offer the best chances to spot diverse animals in their natural habitat.
